Kelly is a passionate community-builder in pursuit of effective and innovative changes in the child welfare system. Her personal experience as a foster youth in the system has cultivated a genuine desire to provide every young person with equal opportunity to succeed and thrive in life.

Kelly is a graduate of North Carolina State University and has an extensive background in banking and finance. She has served on multiple nonprofit boards and as a mentor with organizations including Boys and Girls Club, Junior Achievement, and United Way.

Kelly believes that with a carefully cultivated support system of motivators and mentors, every youth, regardless of background, will soar.
